We need leadership from those of you who are aware that the old ways don’t work anymore.

I’ve lived my life journeying into the dark, damp, moldy places of the soul to forage for medicine that only lives there.

Often, the antidote grows right next to the poison.

Much of my adolescence was spent wandering in these depths, lost, learning to face uncertainty, unshaming the pain that I was carrying.

In those days, I’d have been labeled a failure: recovering alcoholic, career dropout, the impact of my harmful behavior tallied up as though it was measured against my life.

What I discovered in there is that we can only feel whole when we know all of ourselves.

let's get on the phone

As a wanderer, I have been a few places.

I have an engineering degree from MIT and spent a decade in startups.

I have lived on the road out of a backpack, letting myself be blown about like a leaf in the wind.

I work in board rooms with executive teams and dark rooms of people exploring BDSM as a form of greater self-knowing.

I enjoy the thrill and mystery of the wander. And crucially, I have learned that I can only accompany someone as far as I’ve journeyed myself.

When I’m in my flow as a leader, I’m making space in my body and in rooms to hold the radiance of each person, even when it’s scary, even when it stops everything in its tracks.

You might fuck with me if you can clearly see a world where we’re not dominating each other and our mother earth.

Or, perhaps you’re deep in upheaval, facing uncertainty head on, and know that there are deeper ways to engage in life than succeeding by our overculture’s measures.

When you’re facing down the big door, fear about what’s on the other side, knowing things are going to get shaken up, that others might not walk through with you, that’s when I want to stand shoulder to shoulder with you and let you know that I’m here.

It gives me joy to know no one has to take the biggest risks alone.

Emergence is the practice of listening for and trusting what naturally arises — in a group, from the land, or from within yourself.
